Complex Site Remediation

EPS was engaged to complete the remediation and bulk earthworks of a large 55 hectare manufacturing facility. The works involved managing multiple contaminants across Category A to Category D soils, including asbestos-impacted soils, PFAS-impacted soils and water, lead-impacted soils, and hydrocarbon-impacted soils. The project was delivered within budget to a very time contstrained program and required close auditor involvement, a documented chain of evidence, and the execution of large-scale bulk earthworks.

Project Summary

Project Outcomes

Excavation and abatement of over 87,000m³ of asbestos-impacted material across the site. EPS undertook the classification and identification of more than 36 existing stockpiles, with each stockpile treated accordingly. Backfilling was completed under Level 1 conditions, with processing carried out to maximise the volume of soil suitable for reuse while meeting strict environmental and geotechnical parameters. The team successfully met the project timelines and delivered innovative solutions to overcome complex project constraints.
